St. Vincent has unveiled a new single, “The Melting of the Sun,” with an animated lyric video to go along with it. The song can be found on Loma Vista Recordings’ Daddy’s Home, which will be released on May 14th.
St. Vincent (real name Annie Clark) pays homage to many artists that have influenced her, including Joni Mitchell and Marilyn Monroe, on the new track, which she co-produced with Jack Antonoff.
She recently spoke with Rolling Stone about the women who inspired the lyrics.
“The Melting of the Sun” is the follow-up to the LP single “Pay Your Way in Pain,” which was released earlier this year. St. Vincent will appear as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
