Torres has revealed Thirstier, the follow-up to Silver Tongue, which was released in 2020. The artist, whose real name is Mackenzie Scott, also debuted the album’s first single, “Don’t Go Puttin Wishes in My Head,” ahead of its Merge Records release on July 30th.
Thirstier’s tracks were recorded at Middle Farm Studios in the United Kingdom during the pandemic in fall 2020, and are tailored for “post-plague celebration.”
Peter Miles and Rob Ellis, who also produced Torres’ breakthrough albums Sprinter and Three Futures in 2015 and 2017, produced Thirstier.
The singer and her partner filmed the DIY video for “Don’t Go Puttin Wishes in My Head” in Torres’ apartment. Torres has also planned a two-month North American tour in support of Thirstier, which will kick off on August 29th in Fairfield, Connecticut, and end on October 21st at New York’s Bowery Ballroom.
