SHERELLE has introduced a new label for Black and LGBTQI+ artists.
SHERELLE, a DJ based in London and the founder of the Hooversound label, has unveiled her latest project BEAUTIFUL, a platform aimed at cultivating new music and scenes in the Black and LGBTQI+ music communities.
SHERELLE talked about her personal experience as a queer Black artist in the electronic music industry when announcing the news on Twitter.
BEAUTIFUL will also look to own clubs around the world that prioritise Black, LGBTQI+ nights and culture, as well as build more places for marginalised groups to flourish, according to SHERELLE.
BEAUTIFUL’s debut album will be a collection of tracks from artists “pushing the boundaries of Black electronic music,” according to SHERELLE, who draws influence from labels including Juke Bounce Werk, Haus Of Altr, 2000 Black, and AKO Beats.
