Olivia Rodrigo has released a new song called “The Rose Song,” which will be included in a new episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on Disney+. Nini is played by the singer-actress in the show.
The song will be featured in the sixth episode of the second season of the show, which will premiere on Friday. Nini wrote and played the song after being cast as “the Rose” in East High’s winter production of Beauty and the Beast during the episode, according to the Los Angeles Times. Months before her smash hit, “Driver’s License,” Rodrigo penned the song.
Last month, Rodrigo released her stunning first album, Sour, which includes the current number-one single “Good 4 U.” Sour was the year’s biggest debut, debuting at number one on Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Albums chart. Rodrigo has remained at the top of Rolling Stone’s Artists 500 chart for the third week in a row.
