On November 19th, Taylor Swift will unleash a re-recorded version of her 2012 album Red. Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which she debuted in April, is followed by Red (Taylor’s Version).
The singer shared a lengthy statement about the release with fans.
After her label, Big Machine, sold her masters to Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings, Swift revealed that she would re-record her first six albums, putting her legacy “in the hands,” “of someone who tried to dismantle it.” Fearless (Taylor’s Version) was the first to be released, and fans have been waiting for the next instalment.
The trailer for the latest animated film Spirit Untamed contained a revamped version of 1989’s “Wildest Dreams,” prompting many to assume that would be her upcoming endeavor. Swift revealed the new version of her 2008 song “Love Story” in a Match ad created by actor Ryan Reynolds’ new company, Maximum Effort Productions, back in December. In February, the full song was released.
With what was, at the time, the biggest debut of the year, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) surged to Number One on the Rolling Stone Top 200 Albums chart. Streams for the original Fearless dropped almost immediately, while 12 songs from Taylor’s version entered the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs chart.
