“The Sun Hasn’t Left,” a new single from Modest Mouse, has been released. The upbeat, marimba-tinged track will be included on the band’s seventh album, “The Golden Casket,” which will be released later this year.
Dave Sardy and Jacknife Lee produced The Golden Casket, which was recorded in Los Angeles and at Modest Mouse’s Portland, Oregon studio. It’s the band’s first studio album since “Strangers to Ourselves” in 2015. So far, the band has only released a couple songs from the album, including “We Are Between” and “Leave a Light On.”
This year, Modest Mouse will go on a two-legged North American tour, with the first leg beginning with a performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 29th and ending on August 29th at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, Oregon. A second leg will begin on September 11th in Seattle at Marymoor Park and end on October 22nd in Asheville, North Carolina at Rabbit Rabbit.
The Golden Casket is currently available for preorder and will be released on Epic Records on June 25th.
