Method Man has collaborated with Massachusetts rap duo Jones Ink on a new track titled “Day Ones.”
The song is a punchy, at times heartfelt homage to the strength of lifelong friendships.
The video for “Day Ones” was directed by Viso of Secret Society Films and features footage of Method Man and Jones Ink executing the cut over a narrative sequence. The story follows three children as they try to make ends meet by stealing ramen noodles from convenience stores, fighting bullies, and eventually saving enough money to regain the home they were evicted from.
Method Man’s second collaborative track in 2021 is “Day Ones,” which follows “Story of My Life,” which he released in February with Street Life. Last year, the rapper collaborated on a number of songs, including “Lemon” with Conway the Machine and a remix of Gang Starr’s “Bad Name,” which also included Redman. Method Man has also continued to work as an actor, most notably in the TV drama Power Book II: Ghost and the Idris Elba movie, “Concrete Cowboy.”
