Lil Nas X has announced his newest album, Montero, with a short clip that mocks Marvel Studios’ title card.
The video features a collage of Lil Nas X clips, ranging from “Old Town Road” to “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” set to some dramatic orchestral music. The trailer finishes with a trumpet flourish and a clip of what looks to be a new song.
Lil Nas X hasn’t revealed any more information regarding Montero, like as a release date or tracklist. The album is expected to include “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” but it’s uncertain if it will include include Lil Nas X’s other recent track, “Sun Goes Down.” Montero will be the follow-up to Lil Nas X’s 7 EP, which was released in 2019.
Lil Nas X channelled some ancient Egyptian elegance for a performance of “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” at the BET Awards on Sunday, June 27th. Earlier this month, he took part in the Can’t Cancel Pride live benefit, and in May, he sang “Montero” and “Sun Goes Down” on Saturday Night Live.
