Lil Yachty’s new single, “Love Music,” was released on Tuesday via Quality Control and Motown and shows off his sensitive side.
Following his high-octane Michigan Boy Boat mixtape, “Love Music” is a lot more laid-back, with the rapper expressing his thanks for a long-term relationship that spans high school dances to marriage.
On the heels of his 2020 album Lil Boat 3, Lil Yachty dropped Michigan Boy Boat earlier this year. Krispylife Kid, Rio Da Yung OG, DC2Trill, RMC Mike, Babyface Ray, and Icewear Vezzo, all appeared on the single “Royal Rumble” on the album, which featured various rappers and musicians from Michigan’s burgeoning hip-hop industry. Birthday Mix 5 was released in August, maintaining Lil Yachty’s tradition of releasing a set of new tracks on his birthday.
Additionally, with his new music, Lil Yachty has co-founded Scoop Investments with fellow rapper Bhad Bhabie, with their first project being a Jewish dating app.
