This September, Chicago footwork pioneer RP Boo will release a new album on Planet Mu.
‘Established!’ is his fourth full-length album for the label, after ‘Legacy’ from the year 2013, ‘Fingers, Bank Pads & Shoe Prints’ from the year 2015, and ‘I’ll Tell You What!’ from the year 2018.
According to a press release, the album pays homage to the time when the producer was “going out listening to disco and linking with early house producers such as Paul Johnson” while inventing and pioneering the footwork genre. Elsewhere, he draws inspiration from the ’90s ghetto and jacking house.
The release of ‘Established!’ follows the release of a number of other Planet Mu footwork albums, including DJ Manny’s ‘Signals In My Head’ and Ripatti’s ‘Fun Is Not A Straight Line.’
