“Little Things” and “Sparrow,” two new songs by Big Thief, have been released. The songs are the band’s first new work since the release of Two Hands in 2019.
Last October, Shawn Everrett recorded “Little Things” at Five Star Studios in Topanga, California, and Sam Evian recorded “Sparrow” at Flying Cloud Recordings in the Catskills in the summer of 2020. James Krivchenia, the drummer for Big Thief, produced both songs.
On August 21st, Big Thief will kick off a U.S. tour in Garden Grove, California. Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago and Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City are among the stops on the trip.
Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief released two albums last year, Songs and Instrumentals, that she wrote while under quarantine. After Big Thief’s tour was cancelled owing to the pandemic, Lenker penned and recorded the albums in April of 2020.
