Joy Orbison’s first full-length album has been released.
The mixtape, entitled “still slipping vol. 1′ — a reference to his 2019 EP ‘Slipping’ — was revealed in July and is now available via XL Recordings.
Last summer, Orbison, who became a BBC Radio 1 resident, is joined by Herron, James Massiah, Bathe, Léa Sen, Goya Gumbani, and Tyson on the mixtape, which comprises a variety of vocal productions and collaborations. There are also soundbites from the producer’s mother, father, sister, and two uncles, one of whom has recently passed away, all of whom were recorded in lockdown.
‘still slipping vol. 1’ is out now on vinyl, CD, and cassette, as well as merchandise created in collaboration with Cav Empt, a Tokyo apparel brand.
