Olivia Vedder, Eddie Vedder’s daughter, has unveiled a new track entitled “My Father’s Daughter,” which will be used on Sean Penn’s forthcoming film Flag Day’s soundtrack.
The tender ballad “My Father’s Daughter” is led by heavy piano and Vedder’s delicate vocal delivery as she sings about powerful familial relationships.
The song is accompanied by a music video that features scenes from Flag Day.
“My Father’s Daughter” was co-written by Eddie Vedder and Glen Hansard, and it is one of two songs Olivia Vedder sings on the Flag Day soundtrack. On the Flag Day soundtrack, the elder Vedder and Hansard collaborated on eight new tracks, as well as a few tracks with Cat Power.
Penn and his son, Dylan Penn, are among the cast members of Flag Day, which also includes Josh Brolin, Dale Dickey, Eddie Marsan, Norbert Leo Butz, Hopper Jack Penn, Bailey Noble, and Katheryn Winnick. Both the film and the soundtrack will be released on August 20th.
