SHERELLE has confirmed the initial release by the platform BEAUTIFUL that she launched earlier this year.
‘BEAUTIFUL PRESENTS: BEAUTIFUL VOL 1.’ will feature 19 original songs by emerging Black electronic artists, hand-picked by the DJ, producer, and label head herself.
Tim Reaper, Loraine James, and Kessler are among the featured artists, as are young producers TAAHLIAH and worko!
The release of :3LON’s “Fragile,” which premiered on Mary Anne Hobbs’ 6 Music show this morning, provides a first taste of the album.
On August 31, when the compilation is released digitally, listeners will be able to hear the rest of the tracklist.
BEAUTIFUL was formed earlier this year in response to a lack of diversity in the mainstream music industry, as well as whitewashing and the erasure of Black and Queer history. It’s meant to be a place where new music and scenes from the Black music community in and around Europe can flourish.
