Nevertheless’ Video Shows Michael C. Hall Playing Mind Games With His Band Members

Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum, which includes Michael C. Hall of Dexter, Peter Yanowitz of the Wallflowers, and Matt Katz-Bohen of Blondie, have unveiled a new video for their single “Nevertheless.”

Cult filmmaker Dylan Greenberg directed the video, which has an eye-popping, Eighties-style look. Hall comes as a disembodied head who uses his mind control skills to trap Katz-Bohen and Yanowitz, and it’s up to the two singers to find their way out of this bizarre maze.

Thanks for Coming, Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum’s most recent album, was released in February and includes the song “Nevertheless.” Hall tells Rolling Stone in an email that he and Yanowitz created the song’s skeleton before submitting it to Katz-Bohen to finish.

In terms of the video, Katz-Bohen claims they already had Greenberg’s distinct style in mind, and the filmmaker not only agreed to direct the “Nevertheless” video but also came with a very specific treatment.

Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum confirmed a European tour on November 27th in Bristol, England, and will end on December 16th in Cologne, Germany, in addition to the release of the “Nevertheless” video. They’ll conduct a special show at Mercury Lounge in New York City on October 30th to kick off the tour.
