Scratchclart (a.k.a. Scratcha DVA) has released the first single from his forthcoming EP, titled “Afrotek.”
The song, titled ‘Flex,’ features silky vocals from upcoming Baltimore artist:3LON over Hyperdub mainstay’s icy amapiano-inspired production.
The song sets the tone for the rest of the album, which features five songs that blend grime, UK funk along with gqom and amapiano.
To promote ‘Flex,’ the duo has released a music video, with 3LON handling creative direction and Scratchclart handling production.
While Scratchclart has long been a favorite of the UK underground:3LON is quickly proving himself as an interesting new face on the scene. Last week, Mary Anne Hobb’s 6 Music show aired their contribution to SHERELLE’s new compilation “BEAUTIFUL PRESENTS: BEAUTIFUL VOL 1.” The singer and producer will collaborate with LSDXOXO later this year.
This Friday, listeners will be able to hear ‘Flex.’ Hyperdub will release the whole EP on September 3rd.
