THE ASSURANCE PODCAST SERIES TWO HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED BY JUBA

The Assurance Podcast, a new series from Juba, will look into the stories of women DJs in the Global South.

The Assurance Documentary, which took Juba to Lagos, Nigeria, to chat with female DJs on how they manage a scene that routinely excludes and disrespects them, inspired the podcast. Juba wanted to focus at marginalized populations in other nations rather than the Western dancefloor.

The Assurance Podcast expands this conversation to other countries, with Juba speaking with DJs from Uganda, Chile, Lebanon, Brazil, Egypt, and Japan in the first series to learn about their perspectives on electronic music, the club scene in their respective countries, and the impact of politics on their experiences as women DJs.

The second series, which will premiere on September 13, will feature DJs from the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, and Africa talking about their experiences. COVID-19 has had an impact on dance music, club scenes, and locations across the Global South, according to the series. In addition, the podcast will look ahead to see what else needs to be done to address gender disparity in dance music.

Gina Jeanz (South Africa), Julianna (Colombia), Coco Em (Kenya), Lyla (Pakistan), and Nesa (Iran) are among the DJs confirmed for Series 2, with more to be announced.
