ANIMATION OF AVICII’S ‘WAKE ME UP’ SHARED BY GOOGLE TO COMMEMORATE LATE DJ’S BIRTHDAY

Google has released an animation of Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” to commemorate the late DJ’s 32nd birthday, which falls on September 8th.

The artist, true name “Tim Bergling,” progresses from a young lad strumming a guitar to laptop producer, adolescent DJ playing tiny parties, and finally performing for thousands of people after reaching the pinnacle of EDM stardom, as depicted yesterday in the Google Doodle.

The one-minute animation tells the story with a variety of colors and overlay techniques. The art, which was created by Alyssa Winans, Olivia When, and Sophie Diao, also commemorates National Suicide Prevention Week in the United States, which runs from Sunday, September 5th, through Saturday, September 11th, 2021.

It was reported earlier this year that the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm would be renamed “Avicii Arena” in tribute to the DJ. In another tribute to the icon, who died in 2018, the Swedish capital is building a memorial site.
