“Rampage,” a new frightening track from John Carpenter’s forthcoming Halloween Kills album, has been released via Sacred Bones. The soundtrack and film for the second installment of the latest Halloween trilogy will be released on October 15th.
The soundtrack was created by Carpenter, his son Cody Carpenter, and guitarist Daniel Davies. The eerie “Rampage” starts off with skittering percussion and creepy synths, evoking the same anxiety and dread that Carpenter’s legendary horror themes do.
“Rampage” is the second single from the soundtrack, following “Unkillable,” which was released earlier this year.
Halloween Kills, directed by David Gordon Green, was supposed to be released last October, but it was deferred because of the Covid-19 outbreak. Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle star in the film, reprising their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Meyers from the 2018 Halloween reboot. Halloween Ends, the third and final installment, are set to release in October 2022.
Carpenter released “Lost Themes III: Alive After Death,” his first album of non-soundtrack tracks in five years, in February. In 2015, Carpenter started the Lost Themes series, followed by a sequel the following year.
