‘Call My Name,’ a Peppy Vintage Pop Tune, Features Robyn and Swedish duo Smile

Smile, the Swedish producer Joakim Åhlund, and Peter Bjorn and John’s Björn Yttling, have teamed up with Robyn for the latest track called “Call My Name.” Smile’s new album, Phantom Island, will be released on November 19th via Chimp Limbs/Ingrid.

The drums shuffle with a dusty tap, while guitar lines and piano runs sparkle off into space, giving “Call My Name” a cheerful retro pop vibe.

In other Robyn-related news, the singer’s perennial classic “Dancing On My Own” has resurfaced, thanks to an unexpected source: the Boston Red Sox. The big beefy baseball dudes rejoiced in their locker room with plenty of champagne and belting out the song at the top of their lungs after the Sox beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to move to the American League Championship Series.

The video ultimately gained Robyn’s notice thanks to the internet’s power, and she tweeted the perfectly succinct “Bonkers.”
