Knocked Loose Band Bring the Fury to the Twitch Studio of Rolling Stone

The relentless touring schedule of Knocked Loose is well-known. When the pandemic halted live music, the Louisville, Kentucky-based hardcore band made the best of it by producing their next album in a remote rented cabin in the mountain resort town of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Knocked Loose’s place in their genre, among colleagues like Baltimore’s Turnstile, Santa Cruz’s Drain, and New York’s Show Me the Body, has been confirmed by the release of their album and an animated movie. Their viewpoint differs from that of their coastal hardcore contemporaries, with influences steeped in Christianity, country music, Brian Wilson’s Pet Sounds era, and, most interestingly, house music.

The band’s music may not evoke a dance floor, but their live performance leaves little to the imagination. As dozens of people push and punch their way through the pit, bodies fly off the stage.
