A member of Manchester’s electronica band 808 State named “Andrew Barker” has died.
Graham Massey, Martin Price, and Gerald Simpson established the seminal acid house group 808 State in 1988. Following Simpson’s departure in 1989, the Spinmasters, Andrew Barker and Darren Partington, joined.
In 1988, 808 State released the album “Newbuild,” which featured collaborations with James Dean Bradfield and Björk. The band’s most recent album, ‘Transmission Suite,’ was dropped in 2019 and was the group’s first in 17 years.
