Merlyn Wood of Brockhampton has released the video for his new solo track “S.Y.K.” Since their Saturation trilogy in 2017, he’s the latest member of the band to venture out on his own with solo projects, following founding member Kevin Abstract.
In the video for “S.Y.K.” (short for “so you know”), he collaborates with Connie, a Los Angeles-based artist who co-directed the video alongside Well Known Studios. The two are seen in a room with a black light.
Wood teased the delivery of the track on Instagram, writing, “I have anger issues and every issue will be sent to you.”
Brockhampton will embark on a global tour next year, with dates in North America beginning in February. In April, the band released their sixth album, “Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine.” Before the end of the year, a follow-up to the album is expected. Abstract dropped “Sierra Nights” with Ryan Beatty and “Slugger” with Slowthai and $not throughout the summer.
