“Fear of the Dawn” and “Entering Heaven Alive,” Jack White’s two albums, will see him return to his prolific ways in 2022.
Fear of the Dawn will be released on April 8, 2022, followed by Entering Heaven Alive on July 22, 2022. White spent the last few years creating and producing both albums, each with its own set of ideas and influences.
The previously released first track ties the two albums together: “Taking Me Back” opens Fear of the Dawn, and the stripped-down “Taking Me Back (Gently)” finishes Entering Heaven Alive. White’s first new solo music in four years, both songs were released in mid-October. On Thursday, White and Lauren Dunn released the official video for the song, which they co-directed.
Fear of the Dawn also included the single “Hi-De-Ho,” which features A Tribe Called Quest rapper Q-Tip, who previously played on stage with White during a Madison Square Garden concert in 2015.
Fear of the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive will be released on a variety of vinyl formats by White’s Third Man Records, including a midnight blue vinyl version of the former with a screen-printed jacket that is only available to Third Man Vault members. Preorders for both LPs are now available ahead of their respective release dates.
The records are White’s first solo releases since 2018’s Boarding House Reach; the following year, he reconciled with the Raconteurs for Help Me Stranger after a decade apart. Since then, the rocker has concentrated on his record label’s London branch, as well as his vinyl printing press and design studio.
