In collaboration with WePresent, Little Simz has released an original narrative short film, “I Love You, I Hate You.” The movie is based on the song “Sometimes I Might Be Introvert,” which is on Little Simz’s most recent album.
The 20-minute film showcases the musician and is based on a story she wrote. Shaniqua Okwok, C.J. Beckford, and Sonia Ajuwa star in the film, which was directed by Sam Pilling and written by Caroline Adeyemi.
In September, Little Simz dropped Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. It comes after Little Simz’s Grey Area, which was released in 2019. Simz collaborated on the album alongside Inflo, and it will contain guest appearances from Cleo Sol, Obongjayar, and even Emma Corrin from The Crown.
Little Simz’s music video for “I Love You, I Hate You,” directed by Jeremy Ngatho Cole, was released last month. The singer confronts parental strife in the video, which she hammers with the phrase “Are you a sperm donor or a dad to me?” The video shared themes with the new short movie.
