‘Night Journeys,’ Courtesy’s debut EP, has been confirmed.
The EP, which features four tracks of ambient trance, will be delivered on March 25, 2022, through the Copenhagen-based DJ and producer’s own Kulør, a multidisciplinary platform that launched in 2018 as a home for modern art and music.
The album incorporates vocal work, abstract guitars, and trance undertones and is heavy on synths but mild on kick percussion. The release of the EP corresponds with the announcement of the first Courtesy live events, which will be held in conjunction with Esben Weile Kjær, the artist behind the ‘Night Journeys’ artwork, who is also based in Danish capital.
Berlin institution Berghain (4/5), Amsterdam’s Tolhuistuin (11/5), Copenhagen’s Hotel Cecil (19/5), and London’s Village Underground (7/6) are all on the tour. Courtesy is also on the GALA Festival 2022 lineup for Friday. Kulør revealed details of the imprint’s first-ever release — a photobook about Copenhagen by artist Daniel Hjorth — earlier this month.
