Amaarae has released a new remix of her song “SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY.”
For the initial edition of the track, the Ghanaian artist collaborated with a Colombian American singer-songwriter named Kali Uchis. Moliy, a fellow Ghanaian vocalist, now joins the duo for a brand-new version, following up on ‘Bad Bitchez/Sad Girlz of Wall Street.’
The new rework features Kali delivering bilingual lines over an instrumental that veers between Latin and afro-pop tones, and was originally taken from Amaarae’s debut full-length, ‘The Angel You Don’t Know,’ which was released in 2020. Meanwhile, Remi Laudat directed the video, which features a high-tech visual counterpoint to the song.
Amaarae was featured in DJ Mag’s Meet the MC feature series in May 2021. She was one of the guest curators for NTS Radio’s tenth birthday celebrations in the same month.
