KELLY LEE OWENS CONFIRMED THE LATEST EP VIA SMALLTOWN SUPERSOUND, ‘LP.8’

Kelly Lee Owens has confirmed the unveil of her latest EP “LP.8.” Smalltown Supersound will release it digitally on April 29th, with a physical release set for June 10th.

‘Sonic 8’ and ‘Olga’ are the first two tracks to be released. The Welsh artist’s first full-length record is “LP.8” since her critically acclaimed second album, ‘Inner Song,’ was dropped in 2020, just as the Covid-19 pandemic started.

With a highly anticipated world tour postponed due to the crisis, Owens relocated to Oslo, Norway’s capital, in search of new surroundings and uninterrupted studio time. There she met Lasse Marhaug, one of Scandinavia’s most famous musical outsiders, whose CV includes Merzbow, Sunn O))) and Jenny Hval collaborations.

A record that is said to be at once incredibly human and industrial, inspired in part by ideas of Celtic mysticism, and sonic enough to be influenced by everything from Throbbing Gristle to Enya.

Owens will go on a massive tour in June, beginning with stops in Melbourne and Sydney before returning to Europe for a series of festivals. Body & Soul in Dublin (19/6), Bilbao BBK in Spain (8/7), Bluedot near Manchester (22/7), London’s Standon Calling (23/7), Pukkelpop in Belgium (20/8), and Lowlands in the Netherlands (21/8) are among them.
