Little Simz was set to begin her North American tour next month in Portland, Oregon, but the rapper revealed yesterday (April 19) that she would have to defer the trip due to financial issues. Simz said in a statement that she shared on social media, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, I’ve been left with no choice but to reschedule my US tour.” I take my live shows seriously and would only want to give you guys nothing but the best of me. Being an
independent artist, I pay for everything encompassing my live performances out of my own pocket and touring the US for a month would leave me in a huge deficit.”
Simz’s tour was planned to promote her most recent album, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, which was produced last fall. Her tour was set to begin on May 1 in Portland, with stops in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and other cities before wrapping up in New York in the month’s end.
Simz was nominated for four categories BRIT Awards this year, including Album of the Year (for Sometimes I Might Be Introvert), Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act, and she presented a medley of “Introvert” and “Woman” at the 2022 BRIT Awards. She also got honoured for the Best New Artist.
