Lizzo performed her Special track “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) on the stage of the 2022 MTV VMAs on August 28. The rapper performed the track in front of a big screen, lining up her dance moves which were interacting with the visuals displayed on the screen. She finished the performance with a joyful scream into the microphone.
Lizzo won a handful of awards including the Video for Good and artist of the year award. Her lead track “About Damn Time” from the album Special was nominated for Best Pop, Video for Good, and Song of the Year.
Lizzo first unveiled “Special” on Saturday Night Live, followed by “About Damn Time” performed at the BET Awards. The visuals for the “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” kicks off from where her 2018’s “Truth Hurts” visuals were left off.
