ABBA Joined TikTok Along with Dancing Queen’s Piano Version

ABBA, the Swedish pop icons, have finally joined TikTok, months after TikTok users started the #DancingQueenChallenge. After being the most searched-for group without a dedicated profile, Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad have now officially opened up their platinum-flecked collection to the TikTok audience.

ABBA’s song was the most desired from an artist without an official TikTok presence, according to a release from the service, a position that was rectified on Sunday with the upload of a piano rendition of “Dancing Queen.” At press time, it was uncertain who was singing the song in the video, with only a pair of hands playing the song’s instantly familiar refrain on the keyboard.

As if that wasn’t enough to pique the interest of fans of the mega-selling group, a second video posted on Monday morning (August 30) previewed the September 2 unveiling of a new experience dubbed the “ABBAVoyage.”

The #DancingQueenChallenge, which had ABBA superfans trying to top each other by singing one of the group’s most famous classics in a single breath, racked up more than 160 million video views this summer. There were no additional details regarding the “Voyage” project available at the press time. The quartet sold more than half a billion albums during their legendary 1970s and early 1980s period, and they have consistently declined invitations to reunite since their hiatus in 1982.

Ulvaeus, on the other hand, claimed in 2018 that they’d recorded two new tracks, “I Still Have Faith in You” and another untitled track, in preparation for a digital avatar tour that was subsequently postponed due to the pandemic.
