This holiday season, ABBA is giving their fans yet another surprise. The reunited Swedish megapop quartet revealed on Tuesday (November 16) that their new Christmas single, “Little Things,” will be released on December 3 via Universal Music.
The band also announced the release of a video for their first-ever Christmas track, which will be delivered on a physical CD the following month.
When Voyage landed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 on Nov. 20, the band — Benny Anderson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, and Björn Kristian Ulvaeus — scored their highest ranking album and first top 10 on the chart. The quartet’s first new studio album since 1982’s The Visitors was released on November 5th.
Voyage peaked at No. 1 on both the Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums lists on Billboard. Instead of embarking on a traditional promotional tour, the band will perform as digital avatars from their 1979 heyday in a gig called “ABBA Voyage,” which will debut on May 27 in London’s ABBA Arena, a 3,000-seat venue designed expressly for the show. Industrial Light & Magic’s special effects wizards built the avatars, who will be supported by a 10-piece band.
