Alec Pace, a Turin-based producer, and DJ has confirmed the release of his latest album, ‘Future Now?’ on March 25.
Pace’s first release since the 2020 track ‘Collider/Juno’ will be available on Early Reflex, and it will be his first leftfield, experimental techno release.
‘Future Now?’ is made up of three gloomy, fast-paced party tracks that depict various facets of a dystopian future world. It is inspired by the implications of modern technologies, artificial intelligence, and the pandemic on human society.
‘Future Now?,’ the album’s first track, is tense, with vocal samples and modulated waves building to an abrupt kick drum release. Drum ‘n’ bass sessions and synths are also introduced as the track progresses.
‘Lanes’ is a thumping track with upbeat melodies and a powerful kick drum. Throughout the album, there are 90s-style voices, whereas the vocals in the final track, ‘Permutations,’ are more enigmatic.
It’s built on industrial-like percussion and metallic synthesizers, and it’s suited for a rave.
