The Club To Club Festival in Turin has released a new short film in which Arca collaborates with visual artist Weirdcore.
The film, which was curated by Arca and directed by Weirdcore, was created in conjunction with Fundación Marcelo Burlon, a new charity organization formed by fashion designer Marcelo Burlon, and is the result of a four-hour live immersive music experience that took place on July 15th.
Burlon’s private villa in Ibiza, which was surrounded by installations and sculptures for the 15th July celebration, is the setting for the video. It was held with a no-phones policy in place to prevent any outside communication or social media interaction at the time. Instead, attendees were given a personal camera with which to photograph the entire event and live acts, with their footage being combined to make up a substantial amount of the short film.
The final film will air on September 27th as part of the Club To Club Festival’s ongoing digital project, ‘C0C – The Festival As A Performance,’ which the festival’s organizers initiated at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those interested in watching the stream on September 27th can purchase a pay-what-you-want ticket. Casa Marcella, a temporary sanctuary for trans and non-binary people who have been victims of discrimination and abuse, will receive the earnings.
Arca was recently included on Lady Gaga’s ‘Chromatica’ remix album, redoing the latter’s collab with Ariana Grande, ‘Rain On Me.’
Weirdcore collaborated with frequent collaborator Aphex Twin to auction off an NFT earlier this year.
