In the Netflix parody Don’t Look Up, Ariana Grande not only sings the apocalyptic arena anthem, but she also improvised the most memorable line.
Grande started throwing out off-the-cuff lyrics during a run-through of her delirious duet with co-star Kid Cudi, her on-screen DJ boyfriend, that writer-director Adam McKay recognized as comedy gold, he claimed in a behind-the-scenes interview released by Netflix Film Club.
The scene with the track is one of the most memorable in the science fiction farce starring Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio as a Michigan State PhD student and professor attempting to warn the world that a planet-killing comet is on its way to collide with Earth.
Grande, swathed in white feathers and suspended from the ceiling, seeks to warn the world that humanity is on the verge of extinction.
Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry, and Cate Blanchett are all featured in Don’t Look Up.
