Asna’s debut single, ‘Atalaku,’ was dropped this week via Blanc Manioc! accompanied a self-directed music video.
Ivorian director William Niava’s video for “Atalaku” is an ode to a generation invested in the production and agentic development of its own identity. Asna designed and produced it entirely in her hometown of Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Despite the fact that this is her first production, she is a frequent DJ, appearing at events such as Afropunk, Nyege Nyege, and Nuits Sonores. She is also a model who has modelled for LP de Gagou, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Lafalaise Dion, among others.
