Next month, Batu will unleash his debut EP.
The album, titled ‘Opal,’ includes 11 tracks and continues the Timedance label head’s exploration of percussion-heavy techno from previous albums. The sounds on the album are reported to have been inspired by coastal landscapes and mineral matter, with Batu branching out from his previous EPs’ dancefloor-oriented compositions.
On the album, fellow Bristol act memotone provides additional instruments, and serpentwithfeet contributes vocals to one track titled, ‘Solace.’
‘Opal’ follows releases on Hessle Audio, XL, and Dnuos Ytivil, a sister label of Livity Sound. ‘I Follow Your Energy,’ Batu’s most recent album, was unveiled late last year.
The album will be released on April 29th.
