Burna Boy, the Nigerian Afro-Fusion star, will headline the Hollywood Bowl for the first time on October 8th, with three supporting acts: American R&B singers Queen Naija and UMI, and also Donavan’s Sound Club, who will perform DJ sets alongside Burna at Sacramento’s Lost in Riddim Festival before taking on the Bowl.
Burna’s performance at the Hollywood Bowl is part of his Space Drift Arena Tour, which also includes a stop at the O2 in London on August 27th.
Burna released only one single this year, “Kilometre.” He’s also worked with Latin pop diva Becky G and has been included on Justin Bieber and Sia’s songs. In June, he was honoured with the BET Award for Best International Act in Los Angeles.
Burna Boy won the Grammy for Best Global Music Album in March for his 2020 album “Twice As Tall.” It was his first time winning an award from the Recording Academy. At the 62nd Grammy Awards, his album African Giant was nominated for the Best World Music Album Grammy (formerly known as the Global Album Grammy). Burna Boy performed a sold-out event in London’s Wembley Arena after the release of African Giant, with guests Wizkid, Dave, and Stormzy.
