CAROLINE SHAW AND ATTACCA SHARE A SONG FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM

 

The best-known American composer Caroline Shaw teamed up with Attacca Quartet for the forthcoming album. The latest LP ‘Evergreen’ is due to be out on September 23 by Nonesuch. The album opens with the track “Three Essays: First Essay (Nimrod)” which is out to listen to.

The new record includes five original works from Shaw.  Among them, ‘Three Essays’, ‘Blueprint’, and ‘The Evergreen’ are written for string quartet while the other two ‘And So’ and ‘Other Song” are written for string quartet and voice. The last track “Cant voi l’aube,” on the album is an interpretation of a 12-century French poem by trouvère Gace Brulé.

In 2020, Caroline Shaw and Attacca have won the Grammy award for Best Chamber Music/ Small Ensemble Performance for their collaborative work Orange. In the meantime, Caroline has worked with Sō Percussion on the albums Narrow Sea and Let the Soil Play Its Simple Part.
