Caterina Barbieri has released a new label, light-years, with ‘Knot of Spirit,’ a Lyra Pramuk collaboration.
The single is dominated by peaceful ambient sounds, and it comes with a Davide Busnelli-directed video that invokes the concept of awakenings. The soundtrack is accompanied by an oil painting by Russian artist Dasha Kuznetsova and hand-embroidered text by Tulpess.
In addition to the debut album, the imprint has live shows scheduled for this year across Europe, including Nextones Festival in Italy on July 31st and Draaimolen in the Netherlands in September. Bendik Giske, Kali Malone, Nkisi, and Marcel Weber aka MFO — all of whom have collaborated with Roly Porter and Ben Frost – have all confirmed their appearance.
Pramuk stated earlier this month that her 2020 album ‘Fountain’ will be remixed, with contributions from Hudson Mohawke, Eris Drew, KMRU, and Barbieri.
