Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa have announced a new event Black Star Line Festival taking place on January 6, 2023, in Accra. The festival is named after the political activist Marcus Garvey’s company which was established with the aim of connecting Black people across the universal economy. The government of Ghana has also used the name for their fleet and flag featuring a black star.
In May, Chance dropped the video for his single “A Bar About a Bar” featuring Mensa along with the Chicago-based painter Nikko Washington. He also collaborated with Joey Bada$$ on the single “The High & the Lows.” His last album The Big day got released in 2019. Vic Mensa dropped V TAPE in 2020.
