‘Chaal’ is an EP by Daytimers collective member Darama, the next release from More Time Records.
‘Chaal,’ out on the London Label on March 25th, includes three new tracks inspired by Darama’s Punjabi heritage, as well as UK funky, garage, and grime, and also a remix by Daytimers co-founder Provhat.
The percussion on “Vera,” the album’s lead track, was recorded at Darama’s home with members of his family playing traditional South Asian instruments.
The second edition of Daytimers, No ID, and Chalo’s Dialled In festival, which celebrates South Asian talent, will take place at EartH in Hackney on April 9th. Yung Singh, anu, Samrai, Anoushka Shankar, SUCHI, Manara, Nabihah Iqbal, and others are among the performers.
