The release of ‘Black Metal 2’ has been announced by Dean Blunt. The long-awaited follow-up album will be released on Friday, June 11th, with Rough Trade handling the digital release. The CD and vinyl versions will be available on October 22nd.
It’s the first release from the UK artist since last year’s deep dive retrospective, ‘Roaches 2012-2019,’ which came after the critically praised ‘Zushi’ LP, which included Panda Bear and Mica Levi.
Although Blunt and Inga Copeland’s 2012 album ‘Black Is Beautiful’ was included in DJ Mag’s list of definitive dance records from the 2010s, the original ‘Black Metal’ was released in 2014 to enormous acclaim from the press and audience. Our long-read, Hyperdub: Another Future is Possible, featured the artist as well.
The track list for the new album as well as the video for ‘STOOZY,’ a standalone duet with A$AP Rocky that just dropped.
