On November 12th, Columbia Records will release “Imposter”, Dave Gahan’s latest collaboration with Soulsavers.
The 12-track compilation includes a dozen reinvented versions of original songs by Charlie Chaplin, Bob Dylan, PJ Harvey, Neil Young, and others. The first song, a revamped version of Cat Power’s “Metal Heart,” is set to be released on October 8th.
Gahan and Soulsavers previously collaborated on the 2015 album Angels & Ghosts, their second full-length album after The Light the Dead See, released in 2012.
“Imposter” was created differently than those prior albums since it was recorded live at Malibu, California’s Shangri-La studio in a 10-piece band instead of being created from shared files between the two parties.
