During the ‘Tiny Desk (Home) Concert,’ the Isley Brothers Performed all of their Classics

In the most recent episode of NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert, the Isley Brothers ran through their entire catalog.

The performance, which was captured at the soul group’s home studio in St. Louis, Missouri, began with a rendition of “Between the Sheets,” and then seamlessly transitioned into “Footsteps in the Dark,” which was famously sampled by Ice Cube.

The Isley Brothers next performed “For the Love of You,” a 1975 smash, before finishing their concert with “That Lady.” Ronald began the beautiful finale by reminiscing about how Jimi Hendrix had inspired the song, and how it had been sampled decades later by Kendrick Lamar on his Grammy-winning single, “i.”

The Isley Brothers have had a busy year in 2021, releasing a new track with Snoop Dogg called “Friends and Family,” which was the group’s first new music since their 2017 collaboration album with Santana, Power of Peace. The group’s Verzuz battle with Earth, Wind, and Fire also helped them climb the charts.
