Frankie Grande, the actor, and LGBTQ advocate gets glammed up in drag for Macy Gray’s new music video, “Undone,” and it’s like you’ve never seen him before. The jazzy, slow-burning track is the latest single from Gray’s new R&B/funk group, California Jet Club, and the music video has Grande mouthing the song’s lyrics while performing a burlesque-style striptease alone in a smoky bedroom.
Gray sings about the push and pull of a relationship that you simply can’t seem to let go of in the seductive number, which echoes the track’s passionate lyrics.
Gray and Grande debuted the video of music at a special viewing party at Soho House West Hollywood on Friday night, with Nicole Scherzinger and Natasha Bedingfield as the guest. Grande started the video by declaring his long-time respect for Gray’s music and praising and thanking her for taking a chance on him.
Grande and Gray initially met in March at the Rock ‘N’ Relief Covid fundraiser, and the singer tells Rolling Stone that they hit it off right immediately. Grande says he leaped at the chance to join in the video when the singer approached him with the proposal last month.
