“Friends and Family,” the Isley Brothers’ first new song in four years, features Snoop Dogg.
“Friends and Family” is a cheerful party starter with a thumping bass rhythm and Ernie Isley’s slick guitar work. Ronald Isley celebrates the most important things in life on this track.
The Isley Brothers host a small but joyous house party while welcoming a few extra guests via Zoom in the music video for “Friends and Family,” directed by Erik White. Snoop Dogg appears via video chat for his verse, and Syleena Johnson, Vivica A. Fox, LisaRAye McCoy, Kym Whitley, and Sherri Shepherd are among the virtual attendees.
Following the Verzuz episode with Earth, Wind, and Fire, the Isley Brothers released “Friends and Family.”
After the release of their collaboration album with Santana, Power of Peace, in 2017, the Isley Brothers haven’t unveiled any new music. I’ll Be Home for Christmas, the Isley Brothers’ holiday album, was released in 2007, while Baby Makin’ Music, their 30th studio album, was released the year before.
