“Giddy-Up!” is the latest track by David Lee Roth. The countrified song was accompanied by cowboy-themed artwork drawn by Van Halen’s lead singer.
Last October, Roth launched The Roth Project, a 17-chapter interactive online comic book written and drawn by Roth that featured several new tracks, including “Giddy-Up!” The comic book is meant to be an immersive audio and visual experience, with Roth reading the story in a solemn tone and accompanied by a score composed by the musician.
The songs “Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bar and Grill,” “Alligator Pants,” “Lo-Rez Sunset,” and “Manda Bala” were co-written and recorded with guitarist/bassist John 5 a few years ago for the comic.
