GORILLAZ RELEASED THE LATEST THREE-TRACK EP, ‘MEANWHILE’

Gorillaz has released a new EP entitled ‘Meanwhile.’

AJ Tracey, Jelani Blackman, Barrington Levy, and Alica Harley collaborate on the new EP from Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s cartoon troupe, which is designed as a celebration of Carnival culture in West London. Thousands of people were expected to descend on Notting Hill this weekend for the annual Carnival, but it was regretfully postponed for the second year in a row owing to lingering coronavirus concerns.

Carnival has a unique position in Gorillaz history, having performed their smash song “Clint Eastwood” with the Middle Row Records Soundsystem in Meanwhile Gardens, W10 with Sweetie Irie in 2000.

Gorillaz announced songs from ‘Meanwhile’ at a free event for NHS workers at the O2 Arena earlier this month, with AJ Tracey, Jelani Blackman, and Alica Harley performing live on stage for the title track, ‘Jimmy Jimmy,’ and ‘Déjà Vu.’
