They Might Be Giants have released the single from their forthcoming album Book, “I Can’t Remember the Dream.”
As the duo attempt to remember a dream, the single opens with a guitar riff reminiscent of the Kingsmen’s “Louie Louie.” The video shows a costumed individual doing laundry and dishes before drilling into a guitar and smashing the award for “Best Rock Video.”
The book, which will be released on October 29th, has 15 songs that John Linnell describes as “humorously germane to the catastrophe going on around us.” The album will be accompanied by a 144-page book designed by Paul Sahre and featuring photographs by Brooklyn street photographer Brian Karlsson.
The album will be available in a variety of forms, including CD, vinyl, and tape.
